      Unlike other solutions, the digital temperature sensors ADT7420 and ADT7320 are plug-and-play and require no additional signal conditioning or calibration. The products offer I2C (ADT7420) or SPI (ADT7320) digital interfaces, allowing system designers to easily integrate the devices into data acquisition systems, optical communications systems, environmental control systems, medical equipment, or food and pharmaceutical temperature monitors.

      About 16-bit digital temperature sensor

      Analog Devices' new digital temperature sensor is guaranteed to operate from a supply voltage of 2.7 V to 5.5 V over the –40°C to +150°C operating temperature range. Supply current is 210 μA (typ) when operating at 3.3 V. The sensor offers a low-power mode that samples once per second, in which the supply current is only 46 μA (typ) when operating at 3.3 V; it also provides a shutdown mode, which reduces the supply current to only 2 μA. . Other programmable options include over/under temperature and critical temperature indicators.
